Marina i Milan Ilin
Milan Ilin-Mica from Novi Sad has been in the cobbler business for 25 years, from which he decided to use his skill set and interest into making opancis. This idea first came to him from his wife Marina, who persuaded him into learning this craftsmanship, as she has been in the folklore business for decades. He started studying the craft online and perfected it with the help of Slobodan Milosevic Beli, from whom he learned that for this craft it takes a lot of love, time, high quality leather and the right tools. Beside making opancis, Marina and Mica have started their own association ‘Folklorika’ which gathers approximately 100 members. That’s exactly for whom the first opanci were made. With this, the business they have started together has came full circle.
